Introducing new Clinical Leads in India and United Arab Emirates as Everlight expands operations

Dr Karthik Gopal becomes Clinical Lead in India, with Dr Umair Janjua joining us as Clinical Lead for the United Arab Emirates

This month Everlight welcomes three new Clinical Leads to the team, working in the United Arab Emirates, India and across our everlearning content.

Clinical lead - United Arab Emirates

Dr Umair Janjua (1)Dr Umair Janjua joins us as Clinical Lead for the United Arab Emirates. Dr Umair, formerly a consultant radiologist at University Hospital Birmingham, is now based in Dubai. Dr Umair will support Everlight’s fast growing team of GMC/FRCR and FRANZCR radiologists based in the region and lead the establishment of our UAE reporting hubs.

Dr Janjua joins us having worked as consultant in the NHS for 5 years in both the DGH and tertiary centre setting. Alongside NHS work, Umair has 8 years of experience working with 3 separate leading UK teleradiology providers, favouring Everlight for their excellence in operational efficiency, flexibility and high quality work.

Following CCT, Umair worked on building and developing his own ventures in the health insurance and fintech space, whilst completing his masters in Entrepreneurship form the UCL school of management. In 2021, Umair relocated to the UAE, working at the most reputable private hospital in Dubai (American hospital, Mayo Clinic). During this time he has been  consulting on strategy and growth for UK based medical companies.  In February 2023 he made the lateral move to work exclusively for Everlight in establishing and progressing the newest expansion arm of Everlight’s global community - the Dubai base.

He is committed to growing Everlight through promoting the radiologist ‘work-life’ balance in one the best cities in the world. He will be developing new business strategies, innovating and will lead Everlight’s quest in partnering with reputable establishments in the UAE region.

Clinical Lead - India

Dr Karthik Gopal (1)In India, Dr Karthik Gopal is now Everlight Clinical Lead in the region. Dr Karthik, formerly a consultant radiologist at Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, is based in Bangalore. Dr Karthik will support Everlight’s fast growing GMC/FRCR and FRANZCR radiologists based in India and oversees Everlight’s Bangalore reporting hub.

Dr Karthik has been a full time Everlight Radiologist for over six years, working with multiple teams in Everlight across geographies and time zones. He is currently part of the everlearning learning team as FRCR course lead.

"As part of the Everlight team, I look forward to engaging with the current and next generation of radiologists across geographies. I look forward to increasing the presence of Everlight across India and Africa."

These new Clinical Leads will work with the Everlight Medical Leadership Council and executive teams in building knowledge and awareness of the Everlight brand in their regions/remits. 

For Dr Janjua and Dr Gopal, their remits include: 

  • Regional ambassador for radiologists  
  • GMC Appraiser
  • Radiologist recruitment
  • Special projects
  • Business Development
  • Fostering regional reporting networks for radiologists
  • Hosting and receiving new team members (expats, repats and visiting radiologists)
  • Special advisors to management and Executive MLC

Clinical Lead - everlearning

Emmy imageAlso commencing a new role with Everlight as Clinical Lead in everlearning is Emmy de Heer. de Heer has worked with Everlight Radiology since 2019 and takes on the new Clinical Lead role with a focus on the everlearning programme of events, in particular delivering our valuable Registrar Days.
