Urgent out-of-hours reporting
Access consultant level Radiologists at any hour of the night, all year round.
Teleradiology refers to the transmission of radiological images like X-Rays, MRIs and CT scans to a secondary location, away from the hospital or clinic where the images were taken. Images are sent via a secure digital system to be reviewed and reported by a specialized doctor. These specialists, called consultant radiologists, can report on images from another country and even from another time zone.
These reports are then sent back to the patient’s location to allow the treating clinician to review the specialist diagnosis and guidance, and decide on the best course of treatment for their patient.
Teleradiology is a growth technology, with the global teleradiology market anticipated to expand at a CAGR (compound annual growth rate) of 12.5% from 2022 to 2030. It’s becoming widely used in hospitals and healthcare settings across the globe due to the global shortage of Radiologists, which makes it increasingly challenging to achieve consistent on-site radiological coverage.
Teleradiology requires three things – an image sending station (at the healthcare setting), a transmission network and a receiving image station with high quality screen.
A picture archiving and communication system (PACS) is medical imaging technology primarily used to securely store and transmit electronic images and clinically-relevant reports to teleradiologists.
A healthcare facility’s PACS typically integrates with a RIS - a radiology information system (RIS). This is an electronic health record (EHR) designed specifically for use in radiology, allowing practitioners to store and manipulate data, and distribute radiologists’ reports.
At Everlight, we have our own in-house developed RIS, meaning that you will only need to be trained on our system, not each of our clients. We use Intelerad PACS and Powerscribe One voice recognition.

Teleradiology has benefits for both the patient and the healthcare setting. It allows radiologists to provide reporting expertise without needing to be on site with the patient.
Everlight’s follow-the-sun model means our consultant radiologists never need to work nightshifts to deliver urgent care.
