Hear directly from two Everlight Radiologists, Dr Barbara Hochstein and Dr Jakub Nawrot as they share their personal experiences working across our global locations, including relocation, travel, and building a flexible international career in teleradiology.

Their stories will offer an honest, first-hand perspective on what it means to build a flexible, globally connected radiology career.

Dr Barbara Hochstein

Dr Barabara Hochstein

Everlight Radiologist

Dr Barbara Hochstein is a highly respected consultant radiologist and radiology educator with more than three decades of experience, and is recognised as one of New Zealand’s longest-serving radiologists.

Commencing as a consultant in Auckland, before moving to Rotorua in 1999, she has held leadership roles in breast imaging, women’s imaging, and radiology education. Barbara has been instrumental in establishing the Breastscreen Aotearoa services and multidisciplinary cancer care.

Barbara has been a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Radiology at the University of Auckland for 38 years until 2024. She has been involved with registrar training and as an examiner of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists.

In 2024, she was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for her services to radiology and education.

Barbara brings global experience to her reporting at Everlight. She has previously worked for extended periods from the London office, in a week on week off capacity. Recently she has worked from Germany, where she was able to report from a fully equipped remote workstation setup.
