Cultivating community and wellbeing: Everlight's Mental Health Awareness Week initiatives

Mental Health Awareness Week, observed in the UK from May 12th to 18th, 2025, provided a focused opportunity for organisations and individuals alike to reflect on mental wellbeing. This year’s theme, 'Community,' underscored the profound impact of connection, belonging, and mutual support on our mental health.

At Everlight, supporting the wellbeing of our employees is a year-round commitment, and MHAW offered a chance to enhance this focus.

Throughout the week, we organised several engaging activities and informative sessions aimed at promoting positive mental health practices and fostering open conversations within our team.

A moment to breathe and reconnect:
One of our key sessions was an in-person guided 'Everbreathing' breathwork practice, led by Alex Mrowicki in our London office. This session invited employees to take a dedicated pause in their day, offering techniques to reconnect with calm, find peace, and enhance focus – essential tools for navigating the demands of daily life.

Building connections in the park:
Embracing the 'Community' theme, we hosted a company picnic in the picturesque Regent’s Park. This informal gathering, complete with a friendly game of rounders, allowed colleagues to connect outside the office, enjoy the fresh air, and strengthen bonds, highlighting the simple yet powerful benefits of social interaction for wellbeing.

Supporting wider community health:
Understanding the importance of broader support systems, we also welcomed a representative from the CNWL NHS Charity to our office. They delivered an insightful presentation on the vital mental health services and community work the charity undertakes. This not only raised awareness but also provided context on the wider efforts to support mental health in our communities.
