20:20 vision: Insights and innovation across a generation in teleradiology
This session brings together clinical, industry, and technology leaders to explore how teleradiology has transformed over the past 20 years and where it’s headed next.
Our panel will reflect on the innovations, challenges, and defining moments that have shaped the field, from early digital workflows to today’s era of augmented intelligence.
We’ll discuss how AI is enhancing precision while supporting radiologist expertise; the evolving, flexible career models helping to address global burnout; and how data-driven insights are accelerating the shift toward more personalised, proactive patient care. The panel will also examine what it takes to deliver truly global diagnostic accessibility and world-class clinical clarity anywhere in the world.
Looking ahead, our radiologists, partners, and customers will share their perspectives on the next 20 years, highlighting the opportunities and breakthroughs that will define the future of teleradiology.

Dr Lauren Raubenheimer
Everlight Radiology
ANZ Clinical Director
Dr Lauren Raubenheimer is a radiologist with specialist interests in fetal MRI and neuroradiology. She completed her medical degree at UCT Medical School in 2009 before undertaking her postgraduate radiology training at Groote Schuur Hospital, graduating with her FC Rad Diag and MMed (with Honours) in 2018.
In 2019, Dr Raubenheimer completed an observership at St Thomas’ Hospital in London under Professor Mary Rutherford, where she further developed her expertise in fetal MRI. She subsequently enrolled in the European Diploma in Neuroradiology.
Having worked across both the state and private sectors in South Africa, Dr Raubenheimer joined Everlight Radiology permanently in 2022. She continues to provide fetal reporting services to patients across South Africa.
She is registered with the HPCSA, GMC and MCNZ.

Wayne joined Everlight Radiology in 2008 as a consultant and has since worked in a variety of roles across the organisation.
He has over 35 years’ experience in the Radiology Industry spanning a career which encompasses qualifying as a Radiographer and Sonographer, undertaking an MBA and moving to Operational Management.

Dr Bryan Khoury
Everlight Radiology
Clinical Director - South Africa & AI

Dr Khoury completed his medical degree from the University of Witwatersrand and Masters in Business Administration from the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
He trained at Groote Schuur Hospital in South Africa and completed an Interventional Neuroradiology Fellowship at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, where he was subsequently appointed as Neurointervention Staff Specialist. He was an Associate Radiologist at PRP Imaging in Sydney prior to joining Everlight.
Dr Khoury is a Fellow of the College of Radiologists of South Africa and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists.
Special Interests: Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology, Musculoskeletal Imaging, and Image-Guided Pain Management

Dr Charl Hobson
Winelands Radiology
Director
MD, FRANZCR
Dr Charl Hobson is a director and IT Portfolio co-chair at Winelands Radiology, a director at Drs Mfeketho Hobson, and co-founder of TeleRadiology SA. He is a part-time teleradiologist with Everlight Radiology, while Winelands Radiology uses Everlight for after-hours reporting.
These roles give Charl a perspective on teleradiology from several sides: as a private-practice radiologist, service provider and client. As a part-time Karoo farmer who occasionally reports cases remotely from well off the beaten track, he brings a practical perspective to the possibilities of distributed radiology and capacity optimisation. His interests include digital workflow, artificial intelligence and the use of technology to make specialist expertise more accessible and healthcare capacity more flexible.
