  • Differentiate venous ischemia, arterial ischemia, and hemorrhagic bowel
  • Develop a strategy for reporting equivocal cases where you are unsure of a specific diagnosis
  • Improve the clarity and conciseness of your reports for small bowel obstruction to help patient care and direction of the surgical team

Dr Michael Hartung

Dr. Michael Hartung is an Assistant Professor of Abdominal Imaging and Intervention at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is an editor at Radiopaedia and founder of the interactive educational website learnabdominal.com. His major interests include educational innovation, complex and uncommon case collection, and particularly radiology reporting, which is reflected in his recently co-authored Radiographics manuscript entitled "How to Create a Great Radiology Report". Before his career in academics, he worked as a general private practice radiologist, which has provided many practical insights for his teachings style. He also serves as a volunteer teleradiolgist for mission hospitals in Kenya (Tenwek) and Peru (Diospi Suyana).
